Skills Groups
WHAT ARE DBT SKILLS?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills were developed to help clients with emotional dysregulation, depression, anxiety, and mood swings. DBT skills group teaches clients how to get extreme emotions and impulsive behaviors under control and how to live a more balanced life. Research has shown that the DBT group is the most effective part of DBT therapy to reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety and mood swings.
Teaching Modules:
Mindfulness
Emotion Regulation
Distress Tolerance
Interpersonal Effectiveness
Walking the Middle Path (for teens and parents)
In order to participate in Northwest DBT's Skills Groups, you must be actively participating in weekly individual DBT therapy with an individual provider. Several of our therapists are individual providers, and we can also provide you with referrals for other providers.
We are an association of independent therapists that work together to currently offer skills groups for both adults and teens. Read more below.
